Questions and troubleshooting

Common questions, and what to do when something doesn't work.

"Signing in didn't finish. Try again."

Discord's answer didn't come back in time (sign-in waits 10 minutes), or you pressed back. Press Sign in with Discord again, in the same browser tab. Blocking cookies for meadhall.app stops sign-in working: Meadhall uses two, only for signing in (see the privacy policy).

Do I need a password?

No. Meadhall uses your Discord account; it has no passwords of its own.

I was signed out.

A sign-in lasts 30 days on a browser, then you sign in again. Signing out, or deleting your account, ends it sooner.

Groups

Does Meadhall work on my Lineage 2 server?

Yes. A Lineage 2 group can be on LU4, Reborn, ElmoreLab, Asterios, Scryde or E-Global, or, as Other server, on any other Interlude, Kamael or High Five server, typing its name (Lineage 2 servers). Events, raid timers, DKP, loot, auctions, stats and people work on all of them; the tools, the Clan page, LU4's elemental raid feed and reading screenshots are LU4's for now.

I asked to join but see nothing.

That's expected until an officer approves you. Your request waits on Create or join under Waiting for an officer. Tell an officer; they approve it on People, Requests.

"Couldn't join" with a code.

The code may have expired, been used up or revoked. Ask an officer for a new one. Capitals, spaces and dashes don't matter.

A page or button I expected isn't there.

Pages depend on the kind of group (kinds of group): Auctions are on CPs and World of Warcraft guilds and raid teams only. Some things also need a paid plan: auctions and raid window alerts (Alliance for an alliance's own pages: Plans). Buttons depend on your roles: the People page's Roles tab shows what each role may do. Ask a leader if you need more.

A link opened a different group's dashboard.

The link is to a group you're not in, or to one that no longer exists, so the hub opens your first group and says so above the page. To join that group, ask one of its officers for a joiner code (joining with a code). Signed out, the hub asks you to sign in first. A link to a page the group doesn't have opens its Dashboard, with a line saying so.

"Couldn't load your groups".

Meadhall didn't answer when the hub asked for your groups. Nothing is lost: press Try again, or reload the page in a moment. A page that says "Couldn't load this" has the same button beside the message.

Can I be in several groups?

Yes, up to 20. Each crest in the left rail is one of them.

How do I leave, or hand over leadership?

Settings, Leave. If you're the only leader, first make someone else leader (People, Make leader), or Step down once there's another.

"suspended: rejoin the group's Discord server to get access back".

You left the Discord server your group has linked (or lost the Discord role that counts as being in the group) more than 30 days ago. You're still in the group, with your roles, DKP and characters, but locked out until you're back. Rejoin the server, or ask an officer for the role, and access returns by itself, within seconds and at most 15 minutes. (More.)

The preview shows pages my group doesn't have.

The preview also shows what's planned (farm sessions, and the alliance's member CPs page). This guide describes what works today.

Times

The times are wrong.

Set your Time zone on your account page and press Save. The Events page says which zone it uses. In Discord, times show in your device's own zone.

Raid timers

A boss shows no window.

Nobody has recorded a kill yet, or its respawn delay isn't known (Zaken on LU4): an officer records a kill and sets the rule (rules). On a Lineage 2 server other than LU4, the Raids page shows only the bosses your group has added (adding a boss).

"The window has closed with no kill recorded."

Nobody recorded a kill during that window; someone else may have it. Record the kill when you know it, with Earlier kill or rule…. Until then the next window is an estimate.

DKP and claims

My claim can't be approved.

Every line of the activity's checklist must be ticked. If the activity was removed meanwhile, the officer can reject it, or add the activity back.

"not enough DKP" when bidding or buying.

Points held by your leading bids in other auctions don't count as available. The auction page shows what you have and what's held.

A wrong DKP line.

Lines are never edited. An officer presses Reverse on it in the ledger, then writes the right one. For a DKP purchase, remove its loot line instead: the points go back.

"The screenshot reader isn't available right now".

Try again in a minute, or fill in the claim yourself: the screenshots still go with it.

Discord

The bot says "Sign in to Meadhall first".

The bot says "You're not in a group on this server".

Join the group (with a code, or the button the bot offers if the group allows joining from Discord).

The bot says I'm not in a group, but I am.

The group has a group role on this server: only people holding that Discord role count here. The bot names the role ("You're in … on Meadhall, but on this server it counts only people with the … role"): ask for it on Discord. A leader can change or clear the group role on the site under People → Roles.

The bot doesn't post in a channel.

If the server has no Meadhall role (every permission was unticked when the bot was added), make one in Server Settings, Roles, and give it to the bot. Otherwise its role can't reach that channel (a private channel, or permissions unticked when it was added): give the role View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links there (Pin Messages in the officers' channel). Run /setup and press Check again to see what's missing.

I can't see /setup.

Discord shows it only to people with Manage Server on that server. You must also be able to manage the group's Discord link in Meadhall: leaders can, and anyone whose role a leader gave Manage the Discord link.

/event create shows a button instead of the form.

The bot had been idle and answered before it was ready to open a form: press Open the form. If Discord says the bot didn't respond, press it once more. You can always make the event on the site.

A Discord reminder didn't arrive.

Raid window alerts need a paid plan (Plans); event reminders work on every plan. On Settings, check Discord channel says Connected, and press Send a test message. If the webhook was deleted in Discord, make a new one and connect it again.

Languages

How do I change the language?

The list at the top of the hub changes it on this browser; your account page's Language is what the bot and your other browsers use. A link with ?lang=ru (or fr, es, pt-BR, el, en) opens the site in that language. The translations are first versions; this guide and the legal pages are English only for now.
